Kaboom Industry days 2025

Every year during the Kaboom animation festival, two “Industry days” are held at HKU Oudenoord, which happens to be where I go to school!

During these two days, animation students of all years can take part in a small exhibition to show what HKU Animation students make. This year will be my second year participating, as I am now also in my second year of studying animation there.

Kind to Me during Kaboom Industry Days 2024

In 2024 I participated in this small exhibition as well, with my mixed media work “Kind to Me”. I had to take the whole life-size statue from Gouda to Utrecht by train, which was quite a sight to behold. The Kaboom exhibition was a little different from the exhibition Kind to Me took part in before, as the space was much larger and not a dedicated exhibition space. As all works were show in the main hall/cafeteria. It was exciting to see this work in a different setting and I got a few fun reactions from people.

This year, the work I will be showing at Kaboom is my worldbuilding project “Greetings from Garson-M”. It will be a similar setup to de Witte Ezel, where it is shown untill two days before the Industry Days. It will feature the animation installation, large plants and paper mache statues, just like in de Witte Ezel and I’m very excited to see what other animators think of this work!

This year, the Kaboom Industry Days will be held on the 25th and 26th of march.
